Barbara Gibbon Rowland

Mrs. Barbara Gibbon Rowland of Halifax, Virginia passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 at her home. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 1, 1925 and was 90 years old. She was the daughter of the late Charles Earl Gibbon and Olive Vaughan Williams and was married to the late William "Bill" Edward Rowland. She was a member of the St. John's Episcopal Church and was retired as Administrator of Twin Oaks Nursing Home. Mrs. Barbara Gibbon Rowland is survived by: One Daughter Bonnie Crowder of Halifax, VA Two Sons Ward Rowland of Danville, VA Tom Rowland of Scottsburg, VA Six Grandchildren Five Great-Grandchildren Preceded in death by: Two sons, Charles E. Rowland and James E. Rowland A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the St. John's Episcopal Church Cemetery with the Father Cleon Ross officiating. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home, Thursday, from 12:30 until 1:30 P.M. prior to the service.
