Rev. David Garth Dickerson

Rev. David Garth Dickerson of Nathalie, VA went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Montgomery County, VA March 8, 1936 and was 78 years old. He was the son of the late Clarence Luin Dickerson and Elsie Mary Worrel Dickerson and was married to Opal Edith Morgan Dickerson. He was a retired Baptist Minister, was a US Army Veteran, and was an avid hunter. Survivors include: His wife Opal Edith Morgan Dickerson of Liberty One daughter Kimberly D. Hughes and husband Darryl of Liberty One son Mark Allen Dickerson of Alton One sister Louise Dickerson Vest of Check, VA Two grandchildren Lee Morgan Hughes and wife Sandy of Concord Adam Hughes of Liberty He was preceded in death by one sister, Edna Mae Sheppard A graveside service with Military Rites will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Catawba Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bradley Delaney officiating. The family will receive friends at Powell funeral Home on Sunday evening from 7-8:30 PM and other times at the home of Kimberly and Darryl Hughes, 1094 Chisholm Trail, Nathalie.
