Frances McKay Bragg

Mrs. Frances McKay Bragg, formerly of Scottsburg, VA passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at The Hawfield Nursi ng Home in Mebane, NC. She was born in Prince Edward County, VA on September 17, 1923 and was 91 years old. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence Gregory McKay and Lizzie Mae Covington McKay and was married to the late Horotia Scott Bragg. She was a member of Scottsburg United Methodist Church. Survivors include: One brother Maynard W. McKay of Raleigh, NC Three half- sisters Patsy Jane Hannah of Farmville Carolyn Gholston of Amelia Barbara Ann Sears of Farmville Numerous nieces and nephews She was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Beatrice Redd McKay, brothers, Alvin Gregory McKay, Russell McKay, Lester McKay, and Fred McKay, and sisters, Betty McKay and Martha Helen McKay A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Friday for one hour prior to the funeral.
