Robert Edward Davis

Mr. Robert Edward Davis of Scottsburg, VA passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at his home. He was born in Raleigh, NC on June 8, 1947 and was 67 years old. He was the son of the late Columbus Colin Davis, Sr. and Virginia Parish Davis who survives and was married to Brenda Duffey Davis. He attended Blessed Hope Church of Halifax, was the former owner of Davis Fruit Stand in Scottsuburg, and was a former member of the South Boston Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include: His wife Brenda Duffey Davis of Scottsburg His mother Virginia Parrish Davis of South Boston Two daughters Christy Davis Walker and husband Wayne of South Boston Wendy Davis Irby and husband Matt of South Boston Two sons Stuart Ratliff and wife Wanda of South Boston Berkley Ratliff and companion Audrey Dawson of South Boston Three sisters Dorothy Ann Childress of Burkeville Mary Lacks of South Boston Daisy Cheek of Snow Camp, NC Ten grandchildren Sara Elizabeth Ratliff, Tyler Colin Ratliff, Kayla Dawson, Savannah Dawson, Will Dawson, Trevor Walker, Dylan Walker, Bret Walker, Megan Irby, and Kara Beth Irby One great grandchild Arizona Jade Ratliff His 4 legged companions, Hailey and Coonie Preceded in death by one son, Edward Colin Davis and one brother, Columbus Colin Davis Jr. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Halifax Memorial Gardens with Pastor Randall Waller conducting the service. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-9 PM at the home of Christy and Wayne Walker, 1804 Westmoreland Avenue, South Boston.
