Mrs. Janie Thompson Wooding of Halifax, VA passed away Sunday, January 04, 2015 at the Woodview Nursing Home. She was born February 5, 1931 in Halifax County, VA and was 83 years old. She was the daughter of the late Avery Oscar Thompson and the late Esther Guthrie Thompson. She was a member of the Centerville Baptist Church and was retired from Wabash Magnetics. Mrs. Janie Thompson Wooding is survived by: Two Daughters Shirley Lilly of Danville, VA Esther Smith of Crystal Hill, VA Ten Grandchildren Nine Great Grandchildren Two Sisters Dorothy T. Martin of Halifax, VA Rachel T. Smith of Halifax, VA Three Brothers Joseph R. Thompson of Rocky Mount, NC David E. Thompson of Lynchburg, VA Larry S. Thompson of Lynchburg, VA Two Daughters-in-Law Carol Hutchins of Villa Rica, GA Sueko Hutchins of Meridian, AL ***Preceded in death by*** Two sons, David Wright Hutchins and James Calvin Hutchins Two sisters, Ollie T. Waller and Margaret T. Wilborn Three brothers, Charlie B. Thompson, John R. Thompson and James D. Thompson One son-in-law, Butch Lilly Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Centerville Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd McClure officiating. Burial will follow in the Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the Centerville Baptist Church and other times at the home of Esther Smith, 1165 Crystal Hill Rd., Crystal Hill, VA.
