Georgia Compton Kambesis

Mrs. Georgia Compton Kambesis of South Boston, VA and formerly of Fredericksburg VA died Monday, December 22, 2014 at her home. She was born November 11, 1933 in Halifax County, VA and was 81 years old. She was the daughter of the late Beverly L. Compton, Jr. and the late Rebecca Ingram Compton and was married to the late Spiro Michael Kambesis. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church where she loved working with children at Vacation Bible School and Fun Day. She was a retired employee from Life of Virginia. Mrs. Georgia Compton Kambesis is survived by: Two Brothers David M. Compton and wife Debbie of Vernon Hill Beverly L. Compton, III and wife Sylvia of Vernon Hill One Sister Rita C. Burton of Vernon Hill Two sisters-in-law Maxine K. Chisholm of Danville Ida K. Reep of Alexandria A number of nieces and nephews A group of wonderful caregivers Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Asbury United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Pat Neilsen officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Asbury United Methodist Church one hour prior to the service and other times at her home, 228 Powell Rd., South Boston, VA.
