Shirley Church Ferrell

Mrs. Shirley Church Ferrell of Mountain Road, Halifax, VA passed away peacefully after a short illness Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. She was born in Person County, NC on July 15, 1931 and was 83 years old. She was the daughter of the late Ernest Carson Church and Evelyn Echols Church and was married to Len Ferrell who survives. She was a member of the Halifax United Methodist Church where she was a former church treasurer, choir member, and Sunday School teacher and was a long time employee of the Halifax County Health Department. Survivors include: Her husband Len Ferrell of Halifax One son Andy Ferrell of Suffolk One brother Edwin Church of Spartanburg, SC Many nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Church A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 12:00 P M at Halifax United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at Halifax United Methodist Church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the funeral.
