Shirley Satterfield Loftis

Mrs. Shirley Satterfield Loftis of South Boston, VA died December 1, 2014 at the Medical College of Virginia Hospital in Richmond, VA. She was born January 1, 1940 in Halifax County, VA and was 74 years old. She was the daughter of the late Bedford Henry Satterfield and the late Mary Long Satterfield Rice and was married to the late John William Loftis, Jr. She was a member of the Black Walnut Baptist Church. Mrs. Shirley Satterfield Loftis is survived by: One Son John William Loftis, Jr. of Illinois Three Daughters Patsy Loftis Queensberry & Troy of Alton Sherry Robin Loftis of North Carolina Wendy Loftis Strong & Washington of Savanah, GA Six Grandchildren Kimberly, Roger, Jr., Whitney, Christy, John, III, & Ashley Four Great-Grandchildren Kayla, Roger, III, Anna, & Abby Two Sisters Elizabeth Rogers of South Boston Virginia Lowery of South Boston Two Brothers James Satterfield of Halifax Jesse Satterfield of Danville ***Preceded in death by*** One son, Ricky Owen Loftis One grandchild, Bedford Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 2:00 P. M. at the Black Walnut Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Wooten officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
