Beverly Craddock Shields III

Mr. Beverly Craddock Shields III of Mountain Road, Halifax passed away November 25, 2014 at his home. He was born in Charlotte County, VA on September 25, 1933 and was 81 years old. He was the son of the late Beverly Craddock Shields Jr. and Doris St. John Shields and was married to Jackie Powell Shields who survives. He was a member of Halifax United Methodist Church, was retired from ABB, and was a US Navy Korean Conflict Veteran. Survivors include: His wife Jackie Powell Shields of Halifax One daughter Gaye BomarLong and husband Dean of Halifax One son Beverly Craddock Shields IV of Halifax One brother Malcomb Reid Shields and wife Margaret of Timberlake Four grandchildren Liz Meadows and husband Todd of Roanoke Steph Bomar and fiance Matt Barksdale of South Boston Ashley Tolsma and husband Joey of South Boston Lauren Long and companion Brad Shrader of Wilmington, NC Three great grandchildren Piper Meadows, Laney Meadows, and Maci Tolsma A graveside service with military rites will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Halifax Cemetery with Rev. Randy Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at his home.
