Sue Stempel Whiton

Sue Stempel Whiton, 96, of Blacksburg passed away November 13, 2014. She was born in South Boston, Va., and raised her family in Manassas, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, S. G. "Bill" Whiton, and her sisters Rose Stempel Hall, Anne Stempel Robertson, Laura Stempel Nichols, and Margaret Stempel Edwards. Surviving are her sons Bruce Whiton and his wife Cindy, of Orlean, Va., and Robert Whiton of Blacksburg; and her grandchildren Joseph and Katherine. The family thanks the staff of the Willows/Arbor at Warm Hearth Village and Good Samaritan Hospice for the care they gave Sue. Memorial Service for Sue Stempel Whiton will be held at Main Street United Methodist Church, South Boston, VA, Saturday,November 22, 2014 At 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Ed Riggs officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
