Mr. Clarence Archie Bailey of South Boston, VA passed away November 6, 2014 at Guinnett Medical Center in Duluth, GA. He was born in Shinglehouse, PA on July 2, 1923 and was 91 years old. He was the son of the late Harry Oren Bailey and Harriett Jobe Bailey and was married first to the late Adella Dice Bailey and then to the late Virginia Rose Hebrock Bailey. He was a member of St. Paschal Catholic Church, was a US Army WWII Vet serving with the Red Bull Brigade with the 133rd Infantry, was a member of the Virginia National Guard until the age of 75, was a member of the American Legion Post 8, was a comander at the American Legion Post in Allegany, NY, the VFW in South Boston, was in the marching band of the VFW in Olean New York, and the Forty and Eight Veterans Organization. He was a volunteer at the Cave Mountain Lake Campground for 20 years. He retired from McGraw Edison. He worked for Cattarugus County Transportation department in Olean, NY for 19 year, I W Miller in Olean, NY, and he and his son owned a trucking business driving across country for several years. Survivors include: Two daughters Pamela Bailey-Spink and husband Dean of Myrtle Beach, SC Janice Bailey of Jefferson, GA One son Stephen A. Bailey and wife Patricia of Alleghany, NY Two step-daughters Judy L. Callemyn of Halifax Alice Jane Bongrazio of Tabernacle, NJ Four grandchildren Matthew Jordan of Southside Beach, SC April Jordan of Mesa, AZ Emily Bailey of Portville, NY Colleen Bailey of Alleghany, NY A host of Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014at St Paschal Catholic Church at 9:00 AM with Father Haymie conducting the service. Burial will follow at The Veteran's Cemetery in Amelia. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Tuesday, 2-4pm and 7-8:30 PM.
