LeRoy Bomar

Mr. LeRoy Bomar of Brookneal, VA and formerly of Halifax County passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Halifax County on August 24, 1927 and was 88 years old. He was the son of the late Floyd Bomar and Flossie Tribble Bomar and was married first to the late Josephine Carr Bomar and then to the late Mary Taylor Bomar. He was a member of Childrey Baptist Church. Survivors include: Two daughters Diane B. Hamlett and husband Charlie of Charlotte County Beth Layne and husband Raymond of Volens Three sons Floyd Bomar of Charlotte County Donald Bomar and wife Donna Kay of Brookneal Leroy Bomar Jr. of Republican Grove 12 Grandchildren 13 Great Grandchildren His special friend and fiance, Sylvia Thompson A graveside service will be held at Childrey Baptist Church on Tuesday, Ocotober 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7-8:00 PM and other times at his home, 528 Cook Avenue, Brookneal.
