Mr. Jerry Allen Keatts of Cluster Springs Road, South Boston, VA passed away on September 29, 2014 at his home. He was born in Halifax County, VA on September 17, 1942 and was 72 years old. He was the son of the late George Allen Keatts and Carolyn Palmer Keatts who survives and was married to the late Dale Martin Keatts. He was a US Army Veteran, was a member of Black Walnut Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and Choir Member, and was a lifetime member of the Cluster Springs Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include: Four daughters Julie Keatts Blackwell Akyar and husband George of Oxford, NC Annette Keatts Duffer and husband Raymond of Nathalie, VA Kathryn Keatts Tatem and husband Tommy of Crystal Hill, VA Samantha Ann Keatts of Crystal Hill, VA His mother Carolyn Palmer Keatts of South Boston Two brothers Stuart Keatts and wife Hope of South Boston Kenneth Keatts of South Boston One sister Faye Powell and husband Lowell of South Boston Six grandchildren: Nicholas Blackwell, Nilay Akyar, Tyler Duffer, Amanda Duffer, Blair Clay & Bryce Clay Preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Puryear A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at Black Walnut Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Wooten conducting the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday at Black Walnut Baptist Church from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at his home, 1213 Cluster Springs Road, South Boston, VA.
