Samuel Steele Adams, Jr.

Mr. Samuel Steele "Sonny" Adams Jr. of South Boston, VA passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Danville, VA on May 6, 1954 and was 60 years old. He was the son of the late Samuel Steele Adams Sr. and Frances Cora Gravitt Moore who survives. He was a member of Ash Avenue Baptist Church and was a painting contractor. Survivors include: His mother Frances Cora Gravitt Moore of South Boston Brothers and sisters Brenda Gayle Adams of South Boston Greg McCraken of Alboquerque, NM Brett McCraken of High Point, NC Terri Adams of High Point, NC Special friend Robin Throckmorton of South Boston He was preceded death by his father, Samuel Steele Adams Sr., his nephew, Seth Justin Adams, and his paternal grandparents, Reba and Windy Adams A graveside service will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Don Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7-8:00 PM.
