Charlie Elton Redd

Mr. Charles "Charlie"Elton Redd of South Boston, Virginia died Thursday, September 11, 2014 at his home. He was born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia August 1, 1936 and was 78 years of age. He was the son of the late Curtis Redd and Rebecca Kates Redd and was married to the late Geraldine Wilborn Redd. Mr. Redd is survived by: Four daughters Amy R. Cole of South Boston Teresa R. Lowery of Scottsburg Rhonda R. Powell & husband Anthony of South Boston Mary R. Bowes & husband Donald of South Boston One Son Randy E. Redd of South Boston Eleven grandchildren Eleven great-grandchildren Special Friend, Peggy Tetlak of South Boston **In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers. A Graveside Service for Mr. Charles "Charlie" Elton Redd will be held at Halifax Memorial Gardens, Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 2:00 P. M. with the Rev. Randy Holmes officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 7-8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter, 1212 Cherry Hill Church Road, South Boston, Virginia.
