Mrs. Elizabeth "Grambone" Landrum Ferrell, 97, of 1076 Foxfire Drive, Vernon Hill, Virginia passed away on September 2, 2014 at Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston, Virginia. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by her loving family members who so greatly love her. Mrs. Ferrell was born in Stovall, Virginia on November 15, 1916 to the late William and Jennie Carr Landrum. She graduated from Volens High School and completed her advanced education in Floral Design. For 58 years she was the owner and operator of Ferrell's Florist in Halifax, Virginia, where she created thousands of beautiful arrangements. On December 2, 1939 she married Harold Acre Ferrell and for 58 years they shared a love that had no bounds and honored one another. Mrs. Ferrell was a devoted lifelong member of Beth Car Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, until her health started to prevent her from attending regularly. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Mrs. Ferrell was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to her neighbors and community. She was the bedrock of her family and was dedicated to each one of her family members. She is survived by her two sons, Wayne Ferrell & Edwin Ferrell of Vernon Hill; two daughters-in-law, Bonnie Ferrell and Julie Ferrell both of Vernon Hill; seven grandchildren, Ann Tingen and Mike Ferrell both of Vernon Hill, Cassie Faircloth and Summer Bass both of Dunn, NC, Randi Warner and Jennie Ferrell both of Vernon Hill, and Cody Ferrell of South Boston; eleven great-grandchildren; one nephew Thomas Landrum of Florida, and two nieces, Barbara Oliver of Chesterfield, Virginia and Lois Dean of Lynchburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Acre Ferrell, parents William and Jennie Landrum, a brother, Dick Landrum, a nephew, Robert Landrum and a sister, Rebecca "Doll" Harrison. A visitation for Mrs. Ferrell will be held Thursday, from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at Powell Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held Friday at 2 pm at Powell Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Wagoner officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
