Mrs. Gale Mauldin Landrum of South Boston, VA died Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center in Lavonia, GA. She was born June 5, 1957 in Lynch, KY and was 57 years old. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Walter C. Mauldin, Sr. and Joyce Mauldin Jones, who survives. She was a member of the South Boston Church of God and worked a number of years in the church's Christian school, as well as Belk's Department Store. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren and teaching Sunday school for the past 30 years. She is survived by: Her Husband of 38 years James "Jimmy" Garland Landrum, Jr. of South Boston, VA Two Sons James Garland Landrum, III and wife Sherry of Richmond, VA John Nicholas "Nick" Landrum and wife Eustacia of East Machias, Maine Her Mother Joyce Mauldin Jones of Lavonia, GA Three Grandchildren Cora, Evelyn and Addison Landrum One sister, Danna Appleby and husband Larry of Lexington, KY One brother, Dr. Walt Mauldin and wife Tammie of Sevierville, TN Her mother-in-law, Jeanette Landrum of Halifax, VA A number of nieces, nephews and other extended family members. ***Preceded in death by*** Her father, Rev. Walter C. Mauldin, Sr. Her father-in-law, Garland Landrum, Sr. Her stepfather, Artis Jones Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the South Boston Church of God with the Rev. T. Wayne Daniels officiating. The Family will receive friends Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at the South Boston Church of God and other times at her home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested Bibles be donated to Gideons International or the ALS Association in her honor or the Halifax Christian School.
