Mr. Robert Thomas Briggs of South Boston, Virginia died Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Berry Hill Health and Rehab. He was born in Person County, North Carolina, May 15, 1926 and was 88 year of age. He was the son of the late Zack Briggs and Nannie Solomon Briggs. Mr. Robert Thomas Briggs is survived by: One Daughter Diane Briggs Yow & husband Ricky of Pleasant Garden, NC One Son Danny Briggs & wife Janice of Randleman, NC One Sister Odell Mooney of Burlington, NC Special Loving Friend of 44 years Ruby Wilborn of South Boston, VA Godson, Mark Barksdale & wife Tammy of South Boston, VA Four Grandchildren Ken Huff, Lisa Redd, Mark Briggs and Jennifer Briggs Special Nephews David Barksdale of South Boston, VA Mike Barksdale of South Boston, VA Jim Moore of Lumberton, NC Larry Moore of Ashboro, NC Archie Briggs of Mebane, NC James Briggs of Roxboro, NC Special Nieces Terry Little of Burlington, NC Donna Short of Nathalie, VA Marie Moore of Timberlake, NC Kim Rook of Norfolk, VA Patty Sue Balls of North Carolina Nine other nieces and nephews ***Preceded in death by*** One Son, Gerald Briggs, six sisters and three brothers Funeral Services for Mr. Robert Thomas Briggs will be held at Powell Funeral Home, Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 2:00 P. M. with the Pastor Ricky Yow officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home for one hour prior to the service.
