Mrs. Louise Vicks Morris of South Boston, Virginia died Tuesday, August 05, 2014 at Halifax Regional Hospital. She was born in Halifax County, Virginia December 5, 1932 and was 81 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Henry Vicks and Edna Vaughan Vicks and was married to the late Carl E. Morris, Sr. Mrs. Morris was a member of Revelation Baptist Church. Mrs. Louise Vicks Morris is survived by: One Son Carl E. "Gene" Morris , Jr. and friend Gail Crews of South Boston Two Sisters Doris V. Chappell & husband Wesley of Halifax Mary V. Smith & husband Charlie of Halifax Three Brothers Edward Vicks of South Boston Willard Vicks & wife Angeline of Danville Danny Vicks & wife Carol of South Boston One Grandson Stacy Morris & friend Sandra Parsons of South Boston One Step-Grandson Bryant Crump of Java Two Step-Grandchildren Mason & Danielle Crump of Nathalie A number of loving nieces and nephews & many devoted friends ***Preceded in death by one brother, James Vicks and wife Mildred Funeral Services for Mrs. Louise Vicks Morris will be held at Powell Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 2:00 P. M. with the Rev. Dean King officiating. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 7-8:30 P. M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son Gene Morris, 11 Maplewood Drive, South Boston, Virginia.
