Doris Affal Newbill Jones

Mrs. Doris Affal Newbill Jones of South Boston, VA died Monday, July 28, 2014. She was born in Halifax County, VA on October 3, 1930 and was 83 years old. She was the daughter of the late Eugene Earl "Shorty" Newbill and the late Elizabeth Priest Newbill and married to the late Hurley Charlie Jones. She was a member of the Union United Methodist Church. Mrs. Doris Jones is survived by: Three Daughters Affal Jones Crenshaw and husband Kenneth of South Boston Velda Jones Guthrie of Halifax Terrie Jones Conner of Halifax One Son Louie Dean Jones of Vernon Hill Ten Grandchildren Fourteen Great Grandchildren Three Great-Great Grandchildren One Sister Patsy Newbill Cole of Cluster Springs Preceded in death by: One brother, Tommy Newbill One Great Grandson, Justin E. Whitaker Graveside Memorial services will be held Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Union United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Mary Tharpe officiating.
