Mr. Cecil Stover Reaves of Huell Matthews Hwy, South Boston, VA passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born in Halifax County, VA on April 11, 1936 and was 78 years old. He was the son of the late Beverly Averette Reaves and Sally Lewis Ford Reaves and was married to Janey Wilson Reaves who survives. He was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church where he was a long time member of the Administrative Board. He was also a retired technician with Sprint Phone Company. Survivors include: His wife Janey Wilson Reaves of South Boston Two daughters Lydia R. Trickey and husband Mark of South Boston Lynn R. Taylor and husband Mike of South Boston Two sisters Gladys R. Pool and husband John of Cluster Springs Nancy "Judy" Yates and husband Albert of Bedford Four brothers Harry "Barksdale" Reaves and wife Helen of Huddleston Bill Reaves and wife Jean of South Boston Fred Reaves of Virgilina Lewis Reaves and wife Ann of South Boston Three grandchildren Liz T. Smith and husband Justin of Scottsburg Jillian Trickey and fiance Chris Hidy of South Boston Ryan Michael Taylor of South Boston He was also preceded in death by one brother, Averett Reaves A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Townsend and Rev. Jack Stewart conducting the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 7-8:30 PM and other times at the home of Lydia and Mark Trickey, 5087 Huell Matthews Hwy, South Boston, VA.
