Delbert Adams Lester

Delbert Adams Lester of Halifax passed away on Sunday,July 20, 2014 at the age of 86. He was one of five children born to Obie Thomas Lester and Minnie Adams Lester of Pittsylvania County, VA. One sister, Nancy Riddle and one brother, Clayton Lester reside in Danville. Pre-deceased brothers are Byron Lester and Gordon (Buddy) Lester. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, June Reynolds Lester, and by his children, Bonnie and Billy Henderson of Texas Yvonne and James Hopper of Mississippi Delbert Gene Lester and Barbara Learned of Clarksville James Reynolds Lester of Beaver Dam, VA Eight grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons Delbert had retired from Craddock & Terry Shoe Corporation and enjoyed gardening. He was a faithful member of Halifax United Methodist Church. He was a previous member of the Lions Club and Halifax Volunteer Fire Department. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 11:00 A. M. at Halifax United Methodist Church . The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
