Kim Renee Henderson, 56, formerly of Nathalie, Virginia, passed away at her home in Chesterfield, Virginia on July 16, 2014 after an admirable and hard-fought three-year battle with leukemia. She was the wife of Tom Harris and they were inseparable from the first time they met and so very happy together for the next 33 years. Their eternal love remains unbroken and they will be reunited in heaven when Tom dies. Kim has already been reunited with her two beloved dogs, Spanky and Lou Ditty, who were precious to her during their 17 years of life with Kim and Tom. Born on June 17, 1958 in Halifax County, Virginia, Kim is the daughter of Christine Dawson Henderson and the late James Louis Henderson. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Hollins University in 1980. In 1981, she received her first master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Radford University. In 1995, she received a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Richmond. She was employed in the financial industry and was the Vice President of Strategic Finance Organization for SunTrust Mortgage, Inc. for many years. Kim is survived by her husband, Tom Harris of Chesterfield, Virginia, her mother, Christine Henderson, and her brother, Keith Henderson, both of Nathalie, and her sister, Kay Tietz, of Sparks, Nevada. She is also survived by her aunt, Mildred Henderson, of Nathalie, and her cousin, Diane Nipper, of Halifax. Kim was the loving aunt of Maggie Tietz of San Mateo, California, Kyle Henderson and Kaitlin Henderson, both of Crystal Hill, and Tessy Henderson of Nathalie, great-aunt, Kailee Hudson. Kim will also be affectionately remembered by many other family members and close friends. The Funeral service, officiated by Reverend Leroy Davis, will take place at Catawba Baptist Church located at 1060 Volens Road in Nathalie, Virginia, 24577 on Saturday, July 19, 2014 and begin at 3:00 pm. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to the Hospital Hospitality House of Richmond located at 612 E.
