Mr. Edward Herman Roller, Sr. of Clover, Virginia died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at his home. He was born in Halifax County, Virginia, August 22, 1927 and was 86 years of age. Mr. Roller was the son of the late Robert Frank Roller and Rosa Nichols Roller and was married to the late Lillian Lee Conner Roller. Mr. Roller was a member of Mount Laurel United Methodist Church , was an Army veteran having served in World War II. He was a lifetime farmer, avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a former field agent for FSA, retired crop insurance adjuster, founding member and past chairman of Halifax County IDA, Charter Member and past treasurer of the Mt. Laurel Ruritan Club, and Board member of Virginia Tobacco Growers Association. He was a husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather that enjoyed family and social gatherings and conversations that ensued. Laurel United Methodist Church Friday, July 18, 2014 at 11:00 A. M. with the Rev. Don Pizzeck officiating. Burial will follow in the Clover Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Mt Laurel United Methodist Church Thursday night from 7-8:30 P.M. and other times at the home of Ronnie and Frances Roller, 7186 Mt. Laurel Rd., Clover, VA.
