Mr. Robert Martin of Halifax, Virginia died Wednesday, July 02, 2014 at The Woodview. He was born in Halifax County, Virginia July 26, 1919 and was 94 years of age. He was the son of the late Henry Thomas Martin and Mary Francis Martin and is survived by his wife Dorothy Thompson Martin. Mr. Martin was a member of Centerville Baptist Church, was a decorated World War II Army Veteran, member of the American Legion Post 8 and the VFW, Post 8243. He was a retired mechanic having worked with Centerville Dodge and Epps Body Shop. Saunders Funeral Services for Mr. Robert Martin will be held at Centerville Baptist Church, Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11:00 A. M. with the Rev. Coy Terry and The Rev. Todd McClure officiating. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.
