Mrs. Frances Moorefield Fulp of South Boston, Virginia passed away on June 16, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Clover on June 6, 1933. She was the daughter of the late James H. and Lester G. Moorefield. She was the devoted wife of the late Watkins Fulp for 58 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a former member of the Young Homemakers Club and enjoyed farming and selling produce at the Farmer's Market in South Boston. She was a loving mother and was greatly loved by all who knew her. Mrs. Fulp is survived by two sons, Joel W. Fulp of South Boston and Charles T. Fulp of Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, and one daughter, Susan F. Belcher of Danville; three grandchildren, Leah K. Belcher of Charlottesville and Joel Watkins Fulp II and Laura Katherine Fulp of Chase City; two sisters, Patsy M. Fitz of Red Oak and Joyce M. Allred of Nathalie; and one brother, James H. Moorefield, Jr. of Nathalie, and many special nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by three sisters, Genell M. Shotwell, Margaret M. Fallen, and Sylvia Gray Moorefield. The family would like to express their appreciation to the Halifax Regional Hospice staff. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 18 at 2:00 pm graveside at Oak Ridge Cemetery in South Boston with the Rev. Dave Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 17 at Powell Funeral Home from 7:00 to 8:30 pm and at other times at the residence.
