Mrs. Edith Percelia Hazelwood Thomas of Halifax, Virginia died Saturday, June 7, 2014 at her home. She was born in Halifax County, Virginia on February 5, 1938 and was 76 years old. She was the daughter of the late Josh and Katie Fuller Hazelwood and married to the late Robert L. Thomas, Sr. for 51 years. She was a dedicated Christian and a faithful member of the Centerville Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and Choir member for over 30 years. She was a devoted mother of five and was greatly loved by all who knew her. Mrs. Thomas is survived by: Three Sons Robert L. Thomas, Jr. (Bob) and wife Carolyn of Fisherville, VA Randy D. Thomas and wife Patsy of Vernon Hill Averett V. Thomas and wife Dawn of Archdale, NC Two Daughters Tammy T. Daniel and husband Eddie of Alton, VA Rhonda T. Powell and husband Steve of South Boston, VA Eight Grandchildren Robert L Thomas, III (Rob), Brian Satterfield, Blake Powell, Frankie Puryear, Karen S. Hawley, Percelia Powell, Robert Powell and Lauren Daniel Five Great Grandchildren Dylan Puryear, Khali Hawley, Kayden Hawley, Micah Thomas and Abraham Thomas One Brother, David Hazelwood and wife Ruth Three Sisters, Barbara Powell and husband Howard Lucy Epps and husband Jackie Anita Wilborn and husband Clyde A number of nieces , nephews and cousins ***Preceded in death by*** One brother, George Hazelwood One sister, Sally Snead Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Centerville Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd McClure officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, June 9, 2014 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at the Centerville Baptist Church and and other times at the home, 1045 West Oak Hill Dr., Halifax, VA.
