He was the son of the late Virginia Hazelwood Irby and Bernard L. Irby, Sr, who survives. He was married to Darnell Pruitt Irby. He was a member of the South Boston Church of God. Wayne Daniels officiating. Burial will follow at Halifax Memorial Gardens.
