Mrs. Myrtle Osborne Cassada of South Boston died Monday, May 19, 2014 at Halifax Regional Hospital. She was born in Halifax County on May 12, 1922 and was 92 years old. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Scott Osborne and Dorothy Solomon Osborne and was married to the late Douglas Evan Cassada. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. Survivors include: Two daughters Barbara C. Gosney and husband Robert of Woodland, NC Nancy C. Little of South Boston One son Douglas Scott Cassada and wife Megan of Winchester Two sisters Elizabeth Osborne Walston of Twin Lakes, WI Dorothy Ann Osborne of Richmond Six grandchildren Gwen Gosney Erickson of Greensboro, NC Mary Enid Gosney of Santa Clara, CA James Little of Roanoke Jeffrey Little of Harrisonburg Kenneth Cassada and Eva Cassada of Winchester A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, may 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Rigg officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM and other times at her home.
