Mr. Garland Lee Garber of Halifax Virginia died Thursday, May 08, 2014 at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born September 9, 1930 in Halifax County, Virginia. He was the son of the late Jimmy Milton Garber and Maude Wilkerson Garber and was preceded in death by his wife Doris Vaughan Garber. Mr. Garber was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church and was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and he was retired from Daystrom Furniture. Mr. Garland Lee Garber is survived by: Two Daughters Pamela G. Reynolds & husband Rocco of Halifax Michele G. Anderson of Halifax One Son Garland Alan Garber of Dallas, TX One GrandsonKelly G. Anderson of Halifax Three Brothers Stuart Garber & wife Marion of West Virginia Norman Garber of South Boston Bobby Garber & wife Vivian of Halifax One Sister Mary Lou G. Mills of Nathalie ***Preceded in death by Two Brothers, Willie & James Garber One Sister, Alice G. King Funeral Services for Mr. Garland Lee Garber will be held at McKendree United Methodist Church, Sunday, May 11, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. with the Rev. Roger Wilborn Officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service and other times at his home 1041 McKendree Church Road, Halifax, VA 24558.
