Gary Vernon Crutchfield

Mr. Gary Vernon Crutchfield of South Boston, Virginia died Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born September 17, 1945 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia and was 68 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents Leslie L. Crutchfield and Ruth Lee Crutchfield. He was an award winning quilter and was active with the South Boston-Halifax County Museum of Fine Arts and History. He was a Viet Nam Veteran of the US Army having served with the 45th Finance Division. Mr. Gary Vernon Crutchfield is survived by: One Brother Donald N. Crutchfield and wife Betty of Chesterfield, SC Two Nieces Leslee Knight & husband Alan of Columbia, SC Tonya Whittaker & husband Todd of Fort Mills, SC Two Great-Nieces, Hannah & Courtney Griggs One Great-Nephew, Andrew Whittaker The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home, Friday, May 9, 2014 from 10:00 - 11:30 A. M. with Graveside services following at 2:00 P.M. in Oakwood Cemetery in South Hill, Virginia.
