Roy Woodrow Glass

Mr. Roy Woodrow Glass of Halifax, VA died Friday, May 3, 2014 at Duke University Hospital. He was born in Halifax County of February 22, 1928 and was 86 years old. He was the son of the late Richard Norman Glass and Recie King Glass and was married first to the late Ruth Martin Glass and then to Myrtle Morris Glass who survives. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and was retired from the US Air Force as a Master SGT. and retired from Camp 23. Survivors include: His wife Myrtle Morris Glass of Halifax One daughter Lisa Marie Glass of Camron, NC One son Glenn Dale Glass of Halifax One sister Shirley Glass Saunders of Halifax One brother Noel Edward Glass of Halifax Five step children Nine step grandchildren Nine step great grandchildren Two step great great grandchildren He was also preceded in death five sisters, Carrie Lee Glass, Janie Recie Glass, Louise Virginia Glass, Barbara Ann Glass, Recie Ann Glass, , and and by four brothers, Acie Will Glass, Richard Thomas Glass, Ray Woodrow Glass, and Hampton Reed Glass. Funeral services will be held at Powell Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 4:00 PM with the Rev. Chris McGhee and Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.
