Charles Pleasant Chandler

Mr. Charles Pleasant Chandler of Alton, Virginia died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at The Woodview. He was born in Halifax County, Virginia April 29, 1927 and was 86 years of age. He was the son of the late Charlie Glenn Chandler and Annie Huggins Chandler and was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Daniel Chandler. Mr. Chandler was a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church and a Mason. He had previously worked for both Burlington Industries and ABB. Mr. Charles Pleasant Chandler is survived by One daughter Judy Chandler Vicks & husband Eddie of South Boston One Son Charles Michael Chandler & wife Wanda of South Boston Three grandchildren Michelle Duffer of South Boston Greg Chandler of South Boston Ashley Chandler of South Boston Four great-grandchildren Madison Watkins, Chandler Watkins, Taylor Chandler and Jaylin Chandler ***in addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by One grandson, Bryan Duffer Funeral Services for Mr. Charles Pleasant Chandler will be held at Powell Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 2 P.M. with the Rev. Randy Holmes, the Rev. Gregory Thomas and the Rev. Jody Jessup officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.
