Mr. Walter Thomas Trickey, Jr. of Alton, VA died Tuesday, April 8, 2014. He was born in Halifax County, February 16, 1930 and was 84 years old. He was the son of the late Walter T. Trickey, Sr. and Lera Morris Trickey. He was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church, was a past member of the Turbeville Volunteer Fire Department, and a past member of the Turbeville Ruritan Club. Survivors include: Two daughters Susan T. Melton and husband Harris of Roxboro, NC Cynthia T. Adams and husband Arch of Alton, VA One son Mark T. Trickey and wife Lydia of Cluster Springs, VA Four grandchildren Brooke Tippett and husband Kevin of Roxboro, NC Blake Melton and fiance Tiffany Wynne of Roxboro, NC Liz Smith and husband Justin of Scottsburg, VA Jill Trickey and fiance Chris Hidy of Cluster Springs, VA Two great grandchildren Gracie Tippett and Gavin Tippett of Roxboro, NC One sister Gladys Salley of South Boston Preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Gabbie Tippett, four sisters and one brother. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dupre Sanders conducting the service. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service and other times at the home of Mark and Lydia Trickey, 5087 Huell Matthews Highway, Cluster Springs, VA.
