Mrs. Mary Thomas "Lib" Chandler of South Boston, VA passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at The Woodview. She was born in Halifax County on April 22, 1919 and was 94 years old. She was the daughter of the late Ulysses Simpson Thomas and Bessie Satterfield Thomas and was married to the late Roland Frazier Chandler. She one wrote and published a song, "Dreaming". Survivors include: Two stepsons Thomas Chandler & wife Joanne of Poquoson, VA Carroll Frazier Chandler & wife Diane of Bolivia, NC One sister Joyce Francisco and husband Harry of Richmond Five grandchildren Numerous nieces and nephews A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Oak Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Darry Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 7-8:30 PM.
