Annie Arthur Crews

Mrs. Annie Arthur Crews of Halifax died Sunday, March 16, 2014 at the Woodview. She was born in Halifax County on September 9, 1920 and was 93 years old. She was the daughter of the late Floyd Everett Arthur and Pauline Chaney Arthur and was married to the late Watt Coates "WC" Crews Jr. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Millstone. Survivors include: One daughter Cheryl C. Stevens and husband Melvin of Halifax Three sisters Edith A. Anderson of Lynchburg Peggy A. Martin of Nathalie Kitty A. Dawson of Alton One brother Floyd E. Arthur Jr. of Arcadia, FL Two grandchildren Elizabeth S. Thompson and husband Barry of Virgilina Mel Stevens II and wife Kristie of South Boston Three great grandchildren Zack Thompson of Virginia Beach Allison and Madison Stevens of South Boston A graveside will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Republican Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jack Stewart conducting the service. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 7-8:30 PM and other times at the home of Cheryl and Melvin Stevens, 1056 Avondale Drive, Halifax.
