Mrs. Mecia Rich Wilborne of Alton, Virginia died Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. She was born December 11, 1934 in High Point, North Carolina and was 79 years old. She was the daughter of the late John Thomas Rich and the late Eva Rich Snider and was married to the late Raleigh Venable Wilborne,Sr. She was a active member of the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, Choir member and participated in the U.M.W. She also was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 8 for over 35 years where she served many positions. She retired from Westinghouse after 14 years of service. Mrs. Mecia Rich Wilborne is survived by: Three Daughters Beverly Kay Hill of Pasadena, MD Lana Whirley of Rocky Mount, VA Cheryl Ann Mills of Prospect Hills, NC Two Sons Kenneth Dale Wilborne, Sr. of South Boston Raleigh Venable Wilborne, Jr. of Edgewater, MD Twelve Grandchildren Nineteen Great-Grandchildren One Great-Great-Grandchild Two Brothers Roland Rich of Dillon, SC Dwight Rich of Reidsville, NC Two Sisters Joyce Robbins of Archdale, NC Dorothy Jennings of Archdale, NC Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church with the Pastor Bonnie Pizzeck officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
