Mr. Philip Earl Hicks of Buffalo Junction, Virginia died Saturday, March 08, 2014 in Granville County, NC. He was born in Halifax County, Virginia on September 16, 1965 and was 48 years old. He was the son of the late John Richard Hicks and the late Frances Long Hicks and married to Tricia Thompson Hicks, who survives. He was a member of the First Crossroads Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of the Turbeville Volunteer Fire and Rescue where he served as former E.M.S. Captain, Assistant Fire Chief, Engineer and was a current member of the Board of Directors. Philip also achieved the status of National Registry E.M.T.-Intermediate. He is survived by: His Wife Tricia Hicks of Buffalo Junction, VA Three Daughters Frances Clark and husband Daniel of South Boston Heather Hicks of Covington, VA Mackenzie Thompson of Buffalo Junction, VA One Son Raymond Arrington of Covington, VA One Sister Carole Hager of Smyrna, GA One Brother James "Ricky" Hicks, Sr. of South Boston One Granddaughter, Sidney Clark of South Boston One Grandson, Sylas Wolfe of Covington, VA Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Turbeville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department with the Rev. Preston Medley officiating.
