James William "Jimmy" Glass

Mr. James William "Jimmy" Glass of Halifax, Virginia died Monday, February 24, 2014 at his home. He was born in Halifax County, Virginia January 19, 1950 and was 64 years of age. He was the son of the late Acie Will Glass and Eugenia Morris Glass and was raised by his Aunt and Uncle, George Irvin Evans and Janie Glass Evans. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, South Boston, and a chaplain with the Progressive Universal Life Church. Mr. Glass was employed by J.P. Stevens for over 30 years. Powell of South Boston, VA One Brother: Julian Thomas "Butch" Glass of Halifax, VA Four Sisters: Linda G. Humphries of Virgilina, VA Emma Jean Humphries of South Boston, VA Ann G. Compton of South Boston, VA Betty E. Conner of South Boston, VA Two Grandchildren: Adam & Samuel Prevette of Alton, VA Special Uncles: Noel Glass and Woody Glass Special Nephew: David Irby Many other relatives and friends **In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: One brother, DeRoy Glass and Kevin Glass Funeral Services for Mr. James William "Jimmy" Glass will be held at Second Baptist Church, South Boston, Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 2:00 P. M. with the Rev. Larry Wollbrink and the Rev. Vance Midgett officiating. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens.
