Mr. Edwill Earl Owen of Nathalie, Virginia died Monday, February 24, 2014 at Halifax Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 24, 1933 in Halifax County, Virginia. He was the son of the late Edward Bernard Owen and Edith Virginia Wade Owen and was preceded in death by his wife Sara Inez Rudder Owen. He was a gifted musician and could play several instruments. He was a member of the group Masters Four and the Liberty Band. He was a very loving and devoted husband, brother, and father and was very well respected and loved by the community Mr. Owen was a member of Liberty Christian Church. He was also a founding member and past chief of the Liberty Volunteer Fire Department and was retired from ABB. He also was a member of French Masonic Lodge AF&AM and was a member of the Liberty WOW Lodge. Mr. Edwill Earl Owen is survived by: Two Sons: James E. Owen & wife Debbie of Nathalie, VA David M. Owen & wife Cindi of South Boston, VA Eight Grandchildren: Seven Great-Grandchildren Two Sisters Gaye Owen Stevens and husband Ronnie of Appomattox, VA Linda Owen Tuck of Concord, VA One brother Marvin Price Owen and wife Helen of Lynchburg In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by One Son, George Edward Owen Funeral Services for Mr. Edwill Earl Owen will be held Friday, February 28, 2014 at 2:00 PM Liberty Christian Church with the Rev. Tim Owen and Rev. LeRoy Davis conducting the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home, Thursday, from 7-8:30 P.M. and other times at his home, 3099 Liberty Road, Nathalie, VA.
