Mrs. Frances Lacks Rice of Clover, VA died Friday, February 14, 2014 at Meadowview Terrace in Clarksville, VA. Mrs. Rice was born September 17, 1936 and was 77 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Leander Beverly Lacks, Sr. and the late Lula Williams Lacks. Mrs. Rice was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Frances Lacks Rice is survived by: Two sons Dennis T. Rice & wife Stacy of Chase City, VA Donnie K. Rice & fiance Chrystal Lowery of Buffalo Junction, VA Two Sisters Virginia L. Throckmorton of South Boston, VA Lucille L. Fisher & husband Luther of Nathalie, VA One Nephew Danny Moorefield and wife Shirley of Nathalie, VA Two Nieces Linda Younger and husband Lawson of Nathalie, VA Nancy Estes and husband Douglas of Florida She was preceded in death by: Three brothers, Leander B. Lacks, Jr., Otis A. Lacks and James W. Lacks Funeral Services for Mrs. Frances Lacks Rice will be held Monday, February 17, 2014 at 2:00 P. M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Barwick officiating. Burial will follow in the Clover Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home, one hour prior to the service.
