Mrs. Dorothy Eleanor Keatts Bagby Puryear of Virgilina, Virginia died Saturday, January 25, 2014 at The Woodview. She was born in Halifax County, Virginia January 28, 1941 and was 72 years of age. She was the daughter of the late George Allen Keatts and Carolyn Palmer Keatts. She was first married to James Burch Bagby, deceased and then to Gene Douglas Puryear, who survives. She was a member of Shepard's Chapel. Mrs. Puryear is survived by: Her husband: Gene Douglas Puryear of Virgilina, VA Two Sons: Randy Michael Bagby & wife Kimberly Pierce Bagby of Rapid City, South Dakota Rodney Dwayne Bagby & special friend Donna Stolz of Hayes, Virginia A very special stepdaughter: Linda Puryear McCuskey & her husband Dan McCuskey of Melba, Idaho Three Brothers: Jerry Keatts & his deceased wife Dale Martin Keatts of South Boston, VA Stuart Keatts & Hope Pulliam Keatts of South Boston, VA Kenneth Keatts of South Boston, VA One Sister: Faye Powell & husband Lowell Powell of Alton, VA One Granddaughter A number of nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by One stepson, Gene Peyton Puryear One Grandson, Tyler Everson. Funeral Services for Mrs. Dorothy Eleanor Keatts Bagby Puryear will be held at Powell Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Randy Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in the Virgilina Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home for one hour prior to the service.
