Harold David Camp

Mr. Harold David Camp of 513 Greenway Drive, South Boston, VA, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Seasons at the Woodview. He was born in Union, SC on July 23, 1927 and was 86 years old. He was the son of the late Thomas Franklin Camp and Agnes Davis Camp and was married to the late Barbara Gammon Camp. He was a retired CPA and was a member of Ash Avenue Baptist Church where he was a former Treasurer, Moderator, and Sunday School Teacher. He was a WWII US Navy Veteran and was Past Commander of American Legion Post 8. He also was a former member of the South Boston Jaycees and was a Past President of the Halifax County Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by: One daughter Andrea C. Sizemore and husband Mike of Halifax, VA One son Jay Camp and wife Cynthia of South Boston, VA Three brothers Richard E. Camp and wife Betty of Chatham, VA Max T. Camp and wife Joy of Huntsville, AL Thomas H. Camp and wife Sheila of Georgetown, TX One sister Barbara C. Heffinger and husband Boyd of Danville, VA Three grandchildren Jessica C. Snead and husband Jason of Odessa, TX Chris B. Sizemore of Halifax, VA Allyson C. Sizemore of Halifax, VA Three great grandchildren Maggie Snead, A.J. Snead, and Jacob Snead of Odessa, TX He also was preceded in death by one brother, James V. Camp Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Ash Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. John Eure conducting the service. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7-8:30 PM and other times at the home of Andrea and Mike Sizemore, 1034 Evergreen Trail, Halifax.
