William Bryant Burton

Mr. William Bryant Burton of South Boston, Virginia died Saturday December 28, 2013 at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Halifax County, Virginia on September 2, 1935 and was 78 years old. He was the son of the late Ruben Burton and the late Elsie Ferrell Burton. He was a member of Oak Level Presbyterian Church and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was retired from Ford Motor Company, Norfolk, Virginia where he spent 30 years building pickup trucks. Mr. William Bryant Burton is survived by: One son William Bryant Burton, Jr. of South Boston, VA Two Daughters Janice Smithson, Oxford, NC Vicky Burton, Halifax, VA One Brother Charles Burton, Halifax County, VA Two Sisters Debbie Burton, South Boston, VA Carol Sharp, Richmond, VA Seven Grandchildren Trey Burton, Ashley Burton Long, Chris Seamster, Rebecca Anderson, Maggie Burton, Chase Smithson and Eric Smithson Five Great-Grandchildren Special friend Martha Webb of Halifax Preceded in death by one sister Nancy Jones Memorial services will be held Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at the Oak Level Presbyterian Church at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Dr. Russell Lee and the Rev. Dr. Ed Melvin conducting the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Martha Webb, 2005 Highview Rd., Halifax, VA
