Roy Thomas Ridgeway, Jr.

Mr. Roy Thomas Ridgeway, Jr. of 3166 Ball Park Loop Road, Halifax, VA died December 20, 2013 at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Halifax County on August 1, 1930 and was 83 years old. He was the son of the late Roy Thomas Ridgeway, Sr. and the late Mary Catherine Henderson Ridgeway and was married to the late Eunice Satterfield Ridgeway. He was member of the Halifax Baptist Church and retired from the Army National Guard. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 8. Mr. Roy Thomas Ridgeway is survived by: One son Mark David Ridgeway and wife Sonda of Greenville, Ohio One daughter Mae Beth Ridgeway Smith of Greenville, NC Seven grandchildren Nathaniel Thomas Ridgeway, Dawn Bowen Betts, Christopher James Bowen, Jamie Lee Ridgeway and wife Laurie, Jeremy Ray Ridgeway, Julie Renee Ridgeway Fields and husband Ryan, and John Thomas Ridgeway Nine Great Grandchildren One Step-Great-Grandson ***Preceded in death by: His wife, Eunice Satterfield Ridgeway One son, Larry Thomas Ridgeway One grandson, Jason David Ridgeway Two brothers, Clyde and Gene Ridgeway A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Halifax Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Collins, Rev. Mark Ridgeway and the Rev. Mike McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites.
