Parham Melvin Rice

Mr. Parham Melvin Rice of Halifax County, Virginia died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Duke Regional Hospital. He was born in Halifax County, Virginia September 14, 1925 and was 88 years of age. He was the son of the late Guy William Rice and Annie Belle Wesley Rice and was married to the late Dallas Lloyd Rice. Mr. Rice was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, Halifax Congregation. He was a Home Construction Contractor who retired to Florida in 1980. Mr. Parham Melvin Rice is survived by: Three Sons Larry Rice and wife Beverly of Nathalie, VA Steve Rice and wife Nancy of Louisburg, NC Ronald Blaine Rice of Lakeland, F: One Daughter Marlyn Pool & husband Fred of Cluster Springs, VA One Sister Virginia Rice of South Boston, VA Two Brothers Raymond David Rice of Conway, SC Rayford Rice of Ocala FL Eight Grandchildren Fourteen Great-Grandchildren The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home, Friday, December 20, 2013 from 6:30 -8:30 P.M and other times at the home of his daughter, Marlyn & Fred Pool, 1234 Paradise Road, Alton, Virginia. A Memorial Service will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 1:00 P. M. with Elder Michael Smith officiating.
