Virginia Herndon Vicks

Mrs. Virginia Herndon Vicks of 8014 River Road, South Boston, VA passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Halifax Regional Hospital. She was born in Hampton, VA on August 12, 1955 and was 58 years old. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Thomas O. Herndon and Virginia Davis Herndon and was married to James David Vicks who survives. She was a member of Aarons Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include: Her husband James David Vicks of South Boston One daughter Jennifer West and husband Adam of Vernon Hill Four step-children Jennifer Smith and husband Thomas of Nathalie Ted Vicks of Keysville David Scott Vicks of South Boston Sally Newcomb and husband James of Keysville her sister Elizabeth Harris and husband Mike of South Boston Thirteen grandchildren One niece and one nephew Devoted friends Tom and Helen Bond Karen Hughes Son-in-law Ronnie Bowman Caregiver Jasmine Graves Preceded in death by One daughter, Kimberly Diane Riggan and daughter-in-law Janie Vicks A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Aarons Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Joe McDowell officiating. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Friday evening from 7-8:30 PM and other times at her home.
