Dorothy Irene Lacks Anderson

Mrs. Dorothy Irene Lacks Anderson of Rabat Road, Nathalie, VA passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Brookneal. She was born in Halifax County on August 7, 1922 and was 91 years old. She was the daughter of the late David Weldon Lacks and Nannie Weldon Saunders Lacks and was married to the late Clarence Wilson Anderson. She was a member of Ellis Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include: Three daughters Sandra A. Midkiff and husband Allie of Halifax Nancy A. Conner and husband Ray of South Boston Bobbie A. Waller and husband Eddie of Nathalie One son Weldon Lee Anderson and wife Vivian of Nathalie Eight grandchildren Stephanie Crump, Jennifer Anderson, Bran Midkiff, Pam Wallace, Mike Moore, Justin Waller, David Waller, and Matthew Waller Six great grandchildren Danielle and Mason Crump Emily Grace Midkiff, Peyton Olivia Wallace, and Neyland Wallace Emily Elliott Two aunts Lucille Pyree of Lynchburg Hazel Jarvis of Lexington, VA She was preceded in death by one son, Carl Wayne Anderson and a special friend, Jasper Taylor A funeral service will be held at Powell Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Dennis Hoblitz officiating. Burial will follow at the Catawba Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7-8:30 PM and other times at the home of Bobbie and Eddie Waller, 3081 Thornstons Road, Nathalie.
