Mrs. Annie Lee Hudson Roark of South Boston, Virginia died Friday, November 01, 2013 at the Woodview Nursing Home. She was born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia on March 19, 1927 and was 86 years old. She was the daughter of the late James Amos Hudson and the late Bessie Andrew Nichols Hudson and married to the late Lt. T. L. "Whitey" Roark of the South Boston Police Department for 45 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she was active in the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Roark, III of Durham, NC Jennifer Leigh Roark of Vernon Hill, VA Traci Leigh Ciafardini and husband William of Raleigh, NC Ashley Morgan Puryear of Durham, NC Six Great- Grandchildren Anthony and Ty Ciafardini Hannah Eberhart Elijah Satoru Roark Cheyenne Perkins Clorissa Roark Two Sisters Joyce Moore of Huddleston, VA Virginia Lanier of Hurt, VA Preceded in death by: Two brothers, Raymond and Charlie Hudson Two sisters, Ruby Grantham and Frances Midkiff Numerous special pets Memorials services will be held Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Anderson and the Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home.
