Mr. Allen Goode Puckett, Jr. of Scottsburg, Virginia died Thursday, September 19, 2013 At Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was born in Halifax County, Virginia August 19, 1928 and was 85 years of age. He was married first to Susie Hazel Duffey Puckett then to Mary Ellen Betterton McCormick Puckett, both preceded him in death. Mr. Puckett was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mr. Allen Goode Puckett, Jr. is survived by: One Daughter Lesa Starr Puckett of Halifax One Son Danny Grey Puckett and friend Sharon Ann Lloyd of Scottsburg, VA Two Sisters Phyllis P. Oakley of Oxford, NC Jean P. Duncan of Oxford, NC One Brother Ned Alfred Puckett of Goldsboro, NC One Grandson Adam Grey Puckett of Lynchburg, VA ***In addition to his parents and two wives he was preceded in death by One Sister, Elizabeth Puckett Stevens Funeral Services for Mr. Allen Goode Puckett, Jr. will be held at Powell Funeral Home Chapel Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 2:00 P. M. with the Rev. Greg Smith and the Rev. Mike Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Dan River Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home, Saturday from 7-8:30 P.M. and other times at his home 5120 Clays Mill Road, Scottsburg, Virginia.
